Arran / Blue Croft Farm

Another garden complete! Located in the edge of a provincial park with large fir trees as a backdrop, this property has some native plants mixed with non natives to complement its surroundings. The owners wanted plenty of bee food as well as plants that will feed the birds! The boxes are black sheet metal with cedar trim reading to grow some food!

New design and install! This has been such a fun project. The vibe we were going for was Palm Springs vacation in your backyard. As always, we incorporate a ton of bee food, colour and texture. @lacasseconstruction

We’ve been prepping this yard for Spring planting! It once was sod and now it’s a magical path through, soon to be a colourful bee haven! Can’t wait for the Summer!

Before and After. A little garden refresh!
So many people plant within 1 foot of their homes or decks and then within 5 years it looks over planted and the plants are suffering.
These clients recently bought and wanted a “garden refresh”. We used all the original plants and spaced them properly by designing a bigger garden bed. Can’t wait for the spring to see the lilacs bloom.

The most beautiful landscapes are the ones you find in nature!

Echinacea or coneflower brings so much colour to your garden for the month of August.

Just finishing up another install! Thanks @lacasseconstruction for the beautiful build and @valley_creative_concrete for all the concrete and design!

A new install. Karl Foerster feather reed grass is a lovely plant to add to a simple landscape plan. It is beautiful as it sways in the breeze giving any landscape movement.

Elfin Thyme. Grows along walkways and in rocky gardens. Loves heat and well drained soil.

Rhododendron! There are over 1200 varieties! Rhodo’s are a must in a classic West Coast garden.

Bearded iris- easy maintenance, deer resistant and duplicates quickly.
Bearded iris are often found in a cottage garden and have a long stem and are easy to add to any bouquet!

Bleeding heart or Dicentra have a beautiful heart shaped flower. This plant blooms in the Spring, is incredibly resilient and is deer resistant! It loves the shade and will bring a fun splash of pink in any garden.

We designed and installed a new garden last fall and got to come back for a sneak peak. A few of the limiting factors were: draught tolerant, deer resistant, the entire back yard is a septic field and septic tanks. We had to us only shallow root plants. The owner did not want any sod, so we got to play with gravel and steeping stones! Here are a few before and after pictures. I’m looking forward to the summer flowers!

Blueberry blossoms. I love adding blueberry bushes to almost all my landscape designs. They can give us such a tasty treat but also feed the birds! Blueberry leaves turn a brilliant red/ orange giving fall colour to any landscape.

Leopard’s Bane-Doronicum orientale
Beautiful yellow flowers, fast growing and tends to spread quickly. Deer resistant! It is drought tolerant and can handle all types of soil and enjoys both shade and sun.

Brunnera is one of my favourite spring plants. Not only does is have the most beautiful blue colour, it is also deer resistant and grows well in the shade!
